Double Blow in Japan! India's top shuttlers crash out of the Japan Open

Indian shuttlers faced another disappointing day at the Japan Open as Lakshya Sen and doubles pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty crashed out in the second round on Thursday.

World No. 18 Lakshya Sen couldn't maintain his opening momentum, losing 19-21, 11-21 to Japan's Kodai Naraoka after his commanding first-round victory over China's Wang Zheng Xing.

The star men's doubles duo of Satwik-Chirag suffered a 22-24, 14-21 defeat to fifth-seeded Chinese pair Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang. Despite leading 18-14 in the first game, the Indians couldn't sustain their rhythm. This marked their fourth consecutive loss to the Paris Olympics silver medallists, who now lead their head-to-head record 7-2.
