In Pune, Prasad Narayan saw firsthand how talented young minds were forced to abandon education due to financial barriers. Rather than accept this as inevitable, he founded The Power Of One Educational Trust in 2016 with a simple philosophy: sincerity, transparency and commitment can transform lives. The trust operates on a zero-overhead, volunteer-run model, meaning almost every rupee donated goes directly toward student support without bureaucracy or salary expenses.

Prasad and his wife manage the initiative from their home, personally reviewing applications from students across India who show strong academic promise but lack funds for college. Beyond paying tuition fees, the trust also provides mentorship — helping students with communication skills, confidence and career guidance. This holistic support has helped beneficiaries go on to careers in law, academia, science and more.

Since its inception, the trust has supported over 327 students, covering tuition fees exceeding Rs 30 lakh, proving that small, direct contributions can yield big impact. Many former beneficiaries now give back as donors or mentors, continuing a cycle of opportunity that began with one person’s commitment to education equity
