England win toss, Choose to bat first in 1st Women's ODI vs India!

In the opening match of the three-match ODI series, England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and chose to bat first against India at Chester-le-Street on July 16. This decision comes on the heels of England's 2-1 defeat in the recently concluded T20I series, where India displayed an aggressive and clinical approach.

The ODI series marks a chance for England to bounce back and test their form ahead of major tournaments. Nat Sciver-Brunt, who was rested during parts of the T20I leg, returns to lead the team and anchor the middle order. Meanwhile, the Indian side, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, will aim to carry forward the winning momentum, with in-form players like Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, and Pooja Vastrakar expected to play key roles.

With the pitch expected to support batters early on and spinners later in the day, the match promises a tightly fought contest between two well-matched sides. Stay tuned for live updates and post-match analysis.
