England captain Ben Stokes won the toss and opted to bat first in the third Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Lord’s on Thursday (July 10, 2025). The high-stakes match could prove pivotal in the five-match series currently levelled at 1–1.
India made a significant change by bringing back pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the previous game. His return adds firepower to a bowling attack that struggled to finish off England’s lower order at Edgbaston. Mukesh Kumar makes way for Bumrah in the playing XI.
England retained the same squad that brought them a narrow loss in the last match. Conditions at Lord’s are overcast, but the pitch is expected to assist batters on Day 1 before offering some seam movement later.
With both teams looking to seize momentum, the return of Bumrah and England’s decision to bat first under grey skies sets up an intriguing contest. Fans await a thrilling Day 1 clash at the Home of Cricket.
