In today’s fast-paced world, anxiety has become a silent companion for many. But unlike obvious panic attacks, it often hides in plain sight.
Doctors say anxiety isn’t always dramatic-it shows up in small ways. Constant tiredness, fidgeting, overthinking, or snapping at people are common but overlooked symptoms. If you’re tapping your feet nonstop, avoiding decisions, or forgetting things easily, your mind might be overwhelmed with worry.
Psychologists explain that anxiety has two sides-physical (like headaches, muscle tension, rapid heartbeat) and emotional (like restlessness, fear, or irritability). It can happen to anyone, regardless of age or success.
Even behaviours like checking your phone too often, needing constant reassurance, or avoiding social events may signal anxiety. People often think these are habits or personality traits, but they could be signs you need to slow down and care for your mental health.
If you notice these signs, deep breathing, journaling, exercise, and the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique can help calm your body and focus your mind.
The key is to recognise anxiety early—because healing starts with awareness.
