In an extraordinary display of instinct and courage, a five-month-old puppy named Rocky became a hero overnight in Siyati village, located in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi district. Around 12:30 AM on June 26, after hours of relentless rain, a massive landslide struck the area - but not before Rocky gave a life-saving warning.

According to locals, Rocky began barking uncontrollably and scratching at doors throughout the village, waking residents from their sleep. Initially ignored, his persistence raised concern, prompting many families to step outside and investigate. Within minutes, a section of the hillside came crashing down, narrowly missing the homes that had just been evacuated.

No lives were lost, thanks in large part to Rocky’s sharp instincts and refusal to stay silent. Villagers now call him their "guardian angel in fur", and have vowed to care for him for life.

Officials have acknowledged the incident and praised the village’s bond with animals - a timely reminder of how even the smallest among us can make the biggest difference.
