Shubman Gill breaks into ICC top 10 for first time!

India’s Shubman Gill has stormed into the ICC Men’s Test batting top-10 rankings for the first time in his career following a sensational performance against England at Edgbaston. Gill’s twin centuries in the match helped India dominate and earned him a career-best leap in the standings released on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.

The 25-year-old, who has been in sublime touch in recent months, has now cemented his place as a world-class Test batter. His calm yet aggressive approach has drawn comparisons with the likes of Dravid and Kohli during their peak.

Meanwhile, England’s Harry Brook has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC rankings after scoring a majestic 158 in the first innings of the same match. Brook’s consistent performances across formats have made him a key pillar in England’s batting lineup.

With both young stars climbing the charts, the rivalry between India and England is set to intensify as the Test series continues.
