India faces a selection crisis ahead of the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, starting July 23, 2025. With the series tilted 2–1 in England’s favor, Shubman Gill’s team must draw level to stay in contention - but a string of injuries is threatening to upend India’s game plan.
Pacer Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out with a hand injury, while Akash Deep is nursing a groin strain. All-rounder Nitish Reddy has also been sidelined with a knee ligament issue. With bowling resources stretched, India may have to play Jasprit Bumrah despite his recent workload management. Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant is expected to play, though a minor finger injury might limit his ability to keep wickets, opening the door for Dhruv Jurel.
Meanwhile, England has strengthened its spin department by recalling Liam Dawson after eight years, replacing the injured Shoaib Bashir. The hosts appear settled and ready, while India is forced to improvise. With high stakes and unpredictable weather, the fourth Test promises drama, pressure - and a real test of depth and resolve.
