Your gut is your second brain - and leading gastroenterologist Dr. Saurabh Sethi knows it. In a recent Instagram video, he revealed three herbs he includes in his daily routine for optimal digestion and overall gut health: turmeric, moringa, and fennel seeds.

Turmeric, thanks to its active compound curcumin, reduces inflammation and improves digestion when taken with black pepper. Moringa, rich in antioxidants and nutrients, supports liver health and fights gut-related oxidative stress. Dr. Sethi enjoys it in his evening smoothie. Lastly, fennel seeds, known for easing gas and bloating, are his go-to post-dinner digestive aid.

Medical experts back his claims, noting these herbs’ benefits in both traditional and integrative medicine. But they also caution about moderation and individual suitability-especially for pregnant women or those on medication.

Used correctly, these three herbs can reduce gut discomfort, enhance nutrient absorption, and improve your immunity. However, they are not a substitute for medical treatment-always consult your doctor before making them a daily habit.
