Black is often seen as classy and elegant in the world of fashion. But in many Indian traditions, especially during special occasions or religious events, black is considered inauspicious. So, is wearing black really unlucky, or is it just a myth?
According to astrology, black is associated with Shani Dev (Saturn), a powerful planet that influences karma and justice. People with strong Saturn placements can benefit from wearing black, including accessories like a watch with a black strap, as it may bring respect, stability, and fame.
However, those going through Sade Sati—a challenging 7.5-year Saturn phase—are advised not to wear black, as it might attract more hardships during this sensitive time.
So, the belief isn't completely baseless—it depends on one's astrological chart. Wearing black isn't always unlucky; in fact, it can be empowering when aligned with planetary energies.
