Rules to make your Sawan vrat truly effective!

The sacred month of Sawan is here, and with it comes the first Somvar Vrat on July 14, 2025, a day dedicated to Lord Shiva. But many devotees unknowingly make mistakes that reduce the power of their vrat. Firstly, avoid impure vrat food like onion, garlic, grains, or processed items-these are tamasic and disrupt spiritual clarity. Only use fresh, sattvic ingredients like sabudana, milk, or kuttu.

Second, don’t treat this vrat like a wellness trend or detox diet. The true power lies in intention, not just food. Third, follow correct puja timings-Brahma Muhurat (4–6 AM) is best for Abhishek and meditation. Simplicity in rituals with pure devotion is better than elaborate arrangements.

Fourth, prep your mind emotionally. Avoid stress, arguments, and negativity-it spoils your vrat energy. Lastly, maintain consistency. Don’t fast just one Monday with excitement and forget the next. Gratitude and reflection at the end of each vrat deepen your connection with Shiva.

Remember, Sawan vrat is not about rituals-it’s about spiritual discipline, mental stillness, and divine connection.
