On Monday, July 14, 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a high-level meeting in Lucknow to oversee preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, which starts on July 11 during the holy month of Shravan. Directing officials to maintain 24×7 drone and CCTV surveillance in sensitive zones, he warned that any attempt to disturb the pilgrimage would be met with “strict action”.
Yogi emphasized that safety and convenience of devotees were paramount. He ordered deployment of women police personnel and help desks specially for women pilgrims, and mandated full provision of cleanliness, drinking water, medical camps, toilets, public address systems, and recitation of Shiva bhajans along the route .
This initiative follows extensive planning by UP’s Director General of Police, including deployment of over 29,000 CCTVs, 400 drones, and 66,000 security staff, plus medical assistance and crowd-control measures at rest points. Cross-state coordination and real‑time traffic management via digital controls have also been activated to ensure smooth passage and spiritual ambience.
Yogi’s decisive directives reflect a blend of technological vigilance and devotional respect, aiming to ensure a safe, serene, and spiritually uplifting journey for the millions of Kanwariyas.
