The Noida International Airport (NIA) near Jewar in Uttar Pradesh is poised to become the second major aviation hub for the Delhi-NCR region, shifting the landscape of air connectivity and regional development. According to media reports, the airport is expected to open to domestic flights in late 2025, with international operations slated for early 2026.
Strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway and set to link with major highways, rapid transit systems and metro expansions, the airport aims to reduce pressure on the Indira Gandhi International Airport and serve a projected 12 million passengers in its first phase, with long-term plans reaching over 60 million.
Beyond passenger flights, the infrastructure surrounding the airport — including expressways, a proposed semi-high-speed RRTS corridor and logistic hubs — will accelerate investment, job creation and urban expansion in Noida, Greater Noida and beyond.
