Microsoft ends Windows 10 updates: What users must know!

Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 10 will officially end on October 14, 2025. After this date, the company will cease providing software updates, security fixes, and technical assistance for Windows 10 PCs .

To ensure continued security and functionality, users are encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11, provided their PC meets the minimum system requirements. To check eligibility, navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select "Check for updates" .

For devices that are not compatible with Windows 11, Microsoft offers the Extended Security Updates (ESU) program, which provides security updates for an additional year, extending support until October 2026 .

After October 2025, using an unsupported operating system may expose systems to increased security risks and compatibility issues. Therefore, it's advisable to plan for an upgrade or consider purchasing a new device with Windows 11 pre-installed.
