Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a temporary relaxation of the city's loudspeaker regulations to accommodate the extended hours of Ramlila and Durga Puja celebrations. Previously, the use of loudspeakers in public areas was prohibited between 10 PM and 6 AM. However, under the new directive, events can now utilize loudspeakers until midnight during the festive period from September 22 to October 3, 2025.
This decision aims to honor the cultural significance of these festivals while balancing public health and peace. Organizers are required to obtain prior permission from the Delhi Police and ensure that sound levels do not exceed 45 decibels in residential areas, in compliance with noise pollution standards.
The relaxation is expected to enhance the celebratory atmosphere of Ramlila and Durga Puja events, allowing them to continue without the constraints of earlier curfews. Authorities have emphasized the importance of adhering to the new guidelines to maintain harmony between cultural practices and community well-being.
