Sustainable Toys from Cigarette Butts?

In Noida, brothers Naman and Vipul Gupta are transforming cigarette butts, the planet’s most prevalent plastic waste, into eco-friendly products through their startup, Code Effort Private Limited.

Their innovative V bins, installed across India, collect cigarette butts for recycling into plush toys and cushions.

Using biodegradable chemicals, they process 3 tonnes of waste daily, creating safe, sustainable products certified by ISO and BIS. Employing over 100 rural women artisans and 2,500 ragpickers, they foster sustainable livelihoods while recycling 10 billion butts, preventing water contamination and carbon emissions.

Their vision includes expanding into air purifiers and global markets, making Code Effort a leader in sustainable waste management.
