A 17-year-old teenager has uncovered a shocking online scam involving over 1,200 fake gaming websites. These websites falsely claimed to offer users $2,500 bonus rewards, luring them into making $100 crypto deposits. But the catch? The money was lost forever.
These scam sites appeared highly convincing - with slick game interfaces and logos that mimicked popular online casinos. What made them more dangerous was the use of fake MrBeast endorsements, including AI-generated tweets, edited videos, and even deepfake-style content showing influencers promoting the platforms.
The teenager, using the alias “C,” discovered that these fake casinos were connected to Discord groups with thousands of users. The scam operators used bots to spam messages, directing users to the fraudulent sites.
C then documented everything in a public blog post, including how the scam works, site patterns, and even screenshots. The exposure is now helping online safety advocates and tech investigators raise awareness about AI-powered frauds.
This case highlights how AI and influencer culture are being misused for scams, and how young digital sleuths are now playing a key role in uncovering them.
