Yellow alert in Delhi! Delhi braces for stormy days ahead!

Delhi woke up to rain under a yellow alert issued by the IMD, with forecasts warning of continued showers and thunderstorms through the weekend. This persistent monsoon activity is expected to bring relief from the intense heat but may also hamper daily routines.

The IMD’s yellow alert—which signals “be prepared” conditions—remains in place following early morning downpours and gusty winds reaching up to 60 km/h. Light to moderate rain is predicted throughout the week, potentially causing waterlogging and traffic slowdowns along key arteries, while occasional thunderstorms may lead to flight and train delays.

Daily highs will hover between 31–33 °C, with humid nights around 25–27 °C, creating an oppressive feel despite the rain. The weather office suggests avoiding unnecessary travel, securing outdoor items, and unplugging electrical appliances during thunderstorms to reduce risk.

In summary, Delhi’s weather in the coming days is wet, warm, and unsettled. Stay cautious, plan ahead, and carry an umbrella.
