5 IAS Officers who embody Sardar Patel’s vision of Integrity & Service!

In 1947, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel laid down a guiding principle for India’s civil services—“Above all, maintain impartiality and incorruptibility.” More than seven decades later, several IAS officers continue to live by this vision of integrity and service. Officers like Poonam Malakondaiah, Manoje Nath, G.R. Khairnar, Samit Sharma, and Rajni Sekri Sibal fought corruption relentlessly, despite facing frequent transfers and administrative pushback. P.I. Sreevidya, during the devastating Kodagu floods, led rescue operations tirelessly, even with her young child in relief camps.

Similarly, Krishna Teja rescued over two lakh people in Kerala floods within days, exemplifying selfless service. Kannan Gopinath, as Collector of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, quietly worked alongside relief volunteers, lifting rice sacks and serving the needy with humility. Meanwhile, Pradeep Kasni, despite facing 71 transfers and suspensions in his 34-year career, never abandoned his fight against corruption.

These officers remind us that the civil service, at its best, embodies Patel’s dream - an impartial, incorruptible, and service-driven administration dedicated to the people of India.
