Your daily vitamin D could be doing more harm than good!

Vitamin D supplements are often seen as a quick fix for better health - from strong bones to boosted immunity. But longevity expert Dr. Vass warns that taking it without proper testing can be risky. In a recent post, he explained that while vitamin D deficiency is widespread, blindly popping supplements can do more harm than good.

“Most people take it without ever checking their levels,” he said, adding that excess vitamin D can disturb calcium balance, leading to issues like kidney stones or heart problems. The doctor further emphasized that vitamin D doesn’t work in isolation - nutrients like magnesium and vitamin K2 are essential for its proper absorption and function.

He advises getting a simple blood test before supplementing and maintaining healthy vitamin D levels naturally through sun exposure and a balanced diet. Over-supplementation, he cautioned, may look like a shortcut to health but often ends up causing more complications than benefits.
