Best private universities in India 2025: check the ranking!

The Ministry of Education’s NIRF Rankings 2025 highlight India’s top-performing private universities. Among them, Manipal Academy of Higher Education secured the 3rd rank overall, excelling in medical, engineering, and allied sciences. BITS Pilani followed at the 7th spot, renowned for its global alumni base and strong research-driven culture.

At 8th place, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham stood out for its sustainability initiatives and multidisciplinary courses. SRM Institute of Science & Technology grabbed the 11th rank, while Saveetha Institute achieved 13th, both recognized for industry-focused education and advanced research.

The 14th rank went to Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), known for global collaborations and excellent placements. Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (15th) and KIIT University (17th) impressed with healthcare initiatives and inclusive education. Chandigarh University at 19th and JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (21st) further reinforced India’s private higher education strength.

These rankings reflect how private institutions are rapidly transforming India’s education ecosystem, blending academic excellence, innovation, and global outreach to compete with public universities on the world stage.
