An IndiGo aircraft operating flight 6E 2706 from Kochi to Delhi made an emergency landing at Nagpur’s Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport early Tuesday after receiving a bomb threat mid-air . The threat, reportedly received via email at Cochin Airport, specifically mentioned the flight number—prompting immediate action by authorities .

Following standard emergency protocols, the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee convened, and the flight was diverted safely to Nagpur. Upon landing, all 157 passengers and six crew were deplaned without incident. Security teams, including police, fire services, and bomb disposal squads, conducted an exhaustive search of the aircraft and cargo. Thankfully, no suspicious items or explosives were found.

This event marks one of several recent mid-air emergencies in India, including bomb threats and technical malfunctions, highlighting growing concern over aviation safety. Authorities are continuing to investigate the origin and credibility of the threat. IndiGo and airport officials confirmed that once clearance is given, the aircraft will resume its journey to Delhi.
