Cricket goes console-level! ICC's new game idea is already drawing giants

The ICC's call for expressions of interest to develop a flagship mobile cricket game has attracted significant attention from major gaming companies. Notable interested parties include Krafton (BGMI publisher), LightFury Games, EA Sports, Dream11, and Nazara Technologies, among others.

The EOI process, launched on June 16, will lead to a detailed Invitation to Tender for shortlisted companies. The ICC seeks to consolidate licensing rights and create an officially sanctioned global cricket title, targeting the sport's billion-plus fan base.

The project involves comprehensive ICC intellectual property licensing, including tournament branding, trophies, uniforms, and player likenesses. The commercial framework relies on minimum guarantees and revenue sharing rather than upfront funding.
