In a major move to boost heritage tourism, the Delhi government has launched the Tourism and Heritage Fellowship Program. Under this one-year initiative, 40 youth professionals will be selected and awarded ₹50,000 per month to promote the city’s cultural sites.
The fellowship, managed by the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC), will focus on preserving heritage and promoting tourism through on-ground participation. Fellows will assist in guided tours, heritage walks, content creation, event coordination, and volunteering at iconic spots like Dilli Haat and the Garden of Five Senses.
Applicants must be under 35 years, hold a graduate degree, and have at least one year of relevant experience. Priority will be given to tourism graduates with strong digital and bilingual skills.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called it a strategic initiative to tap into local talent and strengthen Delhi's tourism economy. The first batch is expected to be trained later this year, with application details to be announced soon. On completion, participants will receive a certification recognizing their contribution.
