For India’s 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, the government has unveiled “Naya Bharat” as this year’s theme - embodying the vision of a prosperous, secure, and self-reliant nation, aligned with the broader Viksit Bharat 2047 vision - a developed India by its centenary of independence.

At the Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will unfurl the tricolour, assisted by Flying Officer Rashika Sharma, accompanied by a 21-gun salute from indigenous 105 mm Light Field Guns and floral showers by Mi-17 helicopters - one carrying the national flag, the other showcasing the Operation Sindoor flag.

The event will be coordinated by the Indian Air Force, and include ceremonial performances by Army, Navy, Air Force, Delhi Police, and NCC cadets, who will also form the “Naya Bharat” logo on Gyanpath.
