A recent study by Dyson has revealed that Indians spend an average of 35 minutes every day wet-cleaning their floors, mostly using traditional methods like mops and cloths. This finding comes as a surprise considering 62% of Indian respondents in the same survey said they believed a vacuum cleaner with wet-cleaning functionality would be the most effective solution for maintaining hygiene at home.
Despite this belief, adoption of such devices remains remarkably low, especially when compared to global trends. Dyson’s Global Dust Study 2024 suggests that the reluctance may stem from habitual practices, cost concerns, or lack of awareness about modern cleaning tech.
The study also highlights growing concerns among Indian households about dust, pet dander, and indoor air quality - issues that advanced vacuum cleaners are specifically designed to address. Dyson hopes that with greater awareness and innovation, more Indian homes will shift toward efficient, tech-driven cleaning solutions in the near future.
