Delhi's Central district cyber police arrested two men for running a fraudulent "gigolo job" scam that duped a 27-year-old shoe salesman of ₹27,135.
The victim from Inderlok fell for an online listing promising high-paying "playboy" assignments with female clients. The scammers demanded multiple payments including registration fees, cab fare, hotel bookings, and massage kit charges, but never provided any employment.
Police arrested 25-year-old Himanshu and 19-year-old Vishal from Nangloi after technical surveillance traced their digital trail. During interrogation, the accused revealed they specifically targeted men, believing male victims would be too embarrassed to report such frauds.
Ironically, Himanshu had himself fallen victim to a similar scam two years ago and decided to replicate the fraud for easy money. Deputy Commissioner of Police Nidhin Valsan confirmed the arrests were made following a complaint filed through the National Cyber Crime Portal.
