Too good to be true? UAE clears the air on ₹23L Golden Visa buzz!

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has refuted rumors circulated by media and websites claiming the UAE is offering lifetime Golden Visas to specific nationalities. The authority clarified that Golden Visa categories, conditions, and regulations are strictly defined by official laws and ministerial decisions. Applications are processed exclusively through UAE government channels, and no external consultancy is authorized to handle them. Details are accessible on ICP’s official website or smart application.

False claims, including a viral story about a pilot program for Indian and Bangladeshi nationals with a reduced investment of AED 100,000 (approximately Rs 23 lakh), have no legal basis. The story, widely shared on Indian social media, falsely suggested a new nomination-based visa requiring minimal financial outlay, causing excitement among wealthy individuals seeking residency.

The ICP warned that entities spreading such misinformation face legal action for exploiting aspirations for a secure life in the UAE. The Golden Visa, popular for tax, lifestyle, and education benefits, remains tightly regulated. The nomination-based route, existing since 2019, is granted solely at the UAE government’s discretion.
