India has taken a significant step towards sustainable mobility with the launch of the Vayve Eva, the nation's first solar-powered car. Revealed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, this innovative EV starts at an affordable Rs 3.25 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Vayve Eva features a solar panel integrated into its roof, adding up to 10 km of range daily through solar energy. It comes in three variants—Nova, Stella, and Vega—with pricing based on battery rental or outright purchase. The battery subscription plan reduces upfront costs, charging Rs 2 per kilometer, with a minimum usage cap of 600 km for Nova, 800 km for Stella, and 1200 km for Vega.
Compact and futuristic, the Eva boasts circular LED headlights, connected DRLs, and aerodynamic 13-inch wheels. Inside, it seats three with a minimalist cabin featuring dual digital displays, manual AC, and a 6-way adjustable driver's seat. Safety is ensured with a driver's airbag and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers.
The EV offers multiple powertrain options:
1. Nova (9 kWh, 125 km range)
2. Stella (14 kWh, 175 km range)
3. Vega (18 kWh, 250 km range). All variants are rear-wheel drive and lightweight, ensuring efficiency.
While the Vayve Eva has no direct competitors, it serves as a cost-effective alternative to models like the MG Comet EV. With its solar charging, affordable plans, and green focus, the Eva is a groundbreaking innovation for eco-friendly transportation in India.
