In a major crackdown on illegal immigration firms in Chandigarh, the local police carried out large-scale raids, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals who were operating unauthorized immigration agencies. These firms were involved in fraudulent activities, tricking people with false promises of overseas jobs and visas.

The raids targeted various agencies that were operating without the necessary licenses, and authorities seized a significant amount of evidence. Among the seized items were passports, laptops, desktops, and a large amount of cash. For example, a raid at the Dream Future Consultant led to the recovery of 60 passports, one CPU, and ₹2.6 lakh in cash.

The arrested individuals include the owners of several illegal firms, such as Anu Thakur from Milestone Immigration, Vikas Malhotra from Dream Future Consultant, and Vikas Batra from Tronto Wings.

Additionally, Rajveer Singh and Satyam Bhatnagar from Satyam Immigration Services, Alka Thakur from Greenland Overseas Consultancy, and Harshdeep from Calgiri Overseas were also apprehended.

These individuals were arrested under various sections of the Emigration Act and the Indian Penal Code, particularly for violating immigration regulations and engaging in unlawful practices.

While some of the arrested suspects were granted bail, investigations are ongoing to uncover the full scale of the operation and to ensure all victims are identified. This raid serves as a reminder of the growing problem of illegal immigration firms exploiting vulnerable people looking for opportunities abroad.
