Bomb threat sparks mid-air panic: Air India flight forced back to Thailand!

In a nerve-wracking mid-air diversion, Air India flight AI 379, traveling from Phuket to New Delhi, returned to Phuket International Airport on June 13 following a bomb threat received onboard. The Boeing aircraft had taken off at 9:30 a.m. local time but circled back over the Andaman Sea before landing under emergency protocols.

All 156 passengers were safely escorted off the plane, and authorities conducted thorough security checks. A bomb-threat note was reportedly found in the lavatory, with the passenger who discovered it being questioned by officials. No explosives were found during the initial sweep.

This incident comes just one day after the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad that claimed over 240 lives, intensifying concerns across the aviation sector. Airports of Thailand and Air India have launched investigations to determine whether it was a genuine threat or a hoax. Security experts note a surge in bomb threats targeting Indian carriers, potentially tied to a recent wave of alarming hoax calls and messages .

Flight AI 379 has been grounded pending full clearance.
