In a startling revelation, authorities have uncovered a sophisticated scam in Ghaziabad, where Harshvardhan Jain allegedly operated a fake embassy for over seven years. Claiming to represent fictitious micronations like Westarctica and Seborga, Jain presented himself as an ambassador, complete with luxury vehicles bearing diplomatic plates and a building adorned with international flags
The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) arrested Jain, seizing forged diplomatic passports, counterfeit seals from nearly 30 countries, and foreign currencies . Investigations suggest that Jain's operations extended beyond impersonation, potentially involving a ₹300 crore scam linked to fraudulent overseas job placements and money laundering through shell companies
Authorities are delving deeper into the extent of the scam, examining Jain's connections and the network that enabled such an elaborate deception. The case underscores the importance of vigilance and due diligence, reminding citizens to verify the authenticity of institutions and individuals offering international opportunities.
