CBI's hidden agenda? Fourth status report in RG Kar rape - murder case sparks!

In a dramatic courtroom showdown in Kolkata, the CBI on June 11 submitted its fourth status report in the R.G. Kar Medical College rape–and‑murder case—but the victim’s family and their legal team are furious, branding it a "copy‑paste" repeat of earlier submissions . The Sealdah court slammed the agency for failing to provide fresh insight into the alleged larger conspiracy behind the brutal rape and killing of a 31‑year‑old intern found dead in a seminar room on August 9, 2024.

Lawyers demanded custodial interrogation of four doctors who were with the victim the night before, and urged CBI to finalize pending telecom reports and CCTV analyses. The court, emphasizing the gravity of a crime committed at the victim's workplace, insisted the probe be undertaken with "utmost seriousness" . The next hearing has been scheduled for July 16 - raising new hopes for justice and renewed demands for transparency in the investigation.
