US President Donald Trump has urged for swift de-escalation amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan following India's Operation Sindoor strikes on terror camps in Pakistan and PoK.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump is closely monitoring the situation and emphasized, “The President wants this to de-escalate as quickly as possible.” She underscored that Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Rubio have been in active communication with both nation's leadership.
Rubio recently spoke separately with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. While urging Pakistan to take verifiable steps against terror groups, he reiterated America's call for calm.
Jaishankar assured that India will counter any escalation attempts, reaffirming its national security stance.
Leavitt also highlighted Trump's strong diplomatic ties with both countries, hoping these relationships can facilitate a peaceful resolution amid a conflict that risks wider regional instability.
