Apple is reportedly developing a budget-friendly MacBook, expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026, powered by the A18 Pro chip, typically used in iPhone 16 Pro models.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests it will feature a 13-inch display and vibrant color options like silver, blue, pink, and yellow, targeting students and emerging markets.
Priced potentially below the $999 MacBook Air, it aims to be Apple’s most affordable laptop yet. The A18 Pro’s 16-core Neural Engine supports AI-driven features, offering solid performance for everyday tasks.
Apple targets 5–7 million units in 2026, aiming to boost total MacBook shipments to 25 million, matching COVID-era peaks.
This move could democratize Apple’s ecosystem, blending affordability with AI capabilities, though RAM and storage specs remain unclear.
