Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand
A UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the Nanda Devi Biosphere, this alpine valley dazzles with over 500 species—blue poppy, cobra lily, orchids—from June to October. Trekkers must cover 17 km from Gobindghat to reach the bloom-rich meadows near Ghangaria. -
Dzukou Valley, Nagaland–Manipur
Known for the rare Dzukou Lily, this serene Himalayan valley blooms between June and September, revealing carpets of aconitums, euphorbias, and rhododendrons. Accessible via moderate treks from Viswema or Zakhama, the valley remains largely uncommercialized. -
Yumthang Valley, Sikkim
Called the “Valley of Flowers of the East,” this high-altitude haven (3,564 m) blooms with 24 rhododendron species, primulas, and poppies from late February through mid-June, framed by Himalayan peaks, hot springs, and grazing yaks. -
Kaas Plateau, Maharashtra
Also a UNESCO Natural Heritage Site, the Western Ghats’ Kaas Plateau ignites with over 850 wildflower species during the monsoon. Best visited from late August to early October, it transforms into a vivid mosaic of orchids, Karvy shrubs, and carnivores like Drosera Indica.
