On June 20, 2025, the first batch of 33 pilgrims commenced the sacred Kailash Manasarovar Yatra through Sikkim’s Nathula Pass, marking a significant spiritual journey.
Flagged off by Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, the group embarked on the pilgrimage to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar in Tibet, revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers.
The yatra, facilitated by the Ministry of External Affairs, offers a scenic yet challenging route via Nathula, introduced in 2015 as an alternative to the traditional Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand.
Pilgrims expressed gratitude for the opportunity to undertake this divine journey, with robust arrangements ensuring their safety and comfort.
The Chief Minister wished the pilgrims strength and blessings, highlighting Sikkim’s pride in hosting this sacred expedition. The yatra is expected to continue smoothly, with more batches following.
