The Andhra Pradesh government has approved the Amaravati Quantum Valley Declaration, establishing a strategic framework to transform Amaravati into a global quantum technology hub. The ambitious initiative targets $1 billion in investments by January 2029.
Key milestones include establishing QChipIN, India's largest open quantum testbed, within a year, and installing IBM's Quantum System Two by January 2026. The project aims to test 100 quantum algorithms by 2026, expanding to over 1,000 annually by 2028, with total quantum capacity reaching 1,000 effective qubits by 2029.
The valley will support quantum hardware development across superconducting circuits, trapped ions, photonic qubits, and neutral atoms. A dedicated Rs 1,000 crore Quantum Fund will nurture 20 quantum startups initially, scaling to 100 by 2030. The initiative includes establishing a Global Quantum Collaboration Council and hosting an annual World Quantum Expo starting 2026.
