In a forceful address at the United Nations Human Rights Council, diplomat Kshitij Tyagi charged Pakistan with a litany of accusations, accusing it of “exporting terrorism,” illegally occupying Indian territory, and “bombing their own people.” Tyagi dismissed Pakistan’s criticisms of India as “baseless and provocative,” warning that the forum should not be misused for political blame games.
He further urged Islamabad to withdraw from occupied regions rather than covet Indian territory, and called its internal human rights record into question—pointing to military dominance, suppression of dissent, and persecution of minorities. In Tyagi’s view, Pakistan should focus on rescuing its own failing economy and polity instead of wielding accusations at others.
His address came amid reports of a Pakistani airstrike in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that killed civilians. India also warned that UN mechanisms must remain “universal, objective, and non-selective,” resisting tendencies toward politicized targeting.
The speech underscored how diplomatic arenas are now battlegrounds of narrative and legitimacy where states seek both moral high ground and strategic advantage.
