Chennai, June 14, 2025 - The Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF India) is holding a one-of-a-kind job fair exclusively for individuals with mental illness, aiming to foster inclusion and champion recovery through meaningful employment . The event, organised by SCARF's Employment Exchange Cell, promises a unique pool of candidates who have completed their recovery journey and are eager to re-enter the workforce with dignity.
Over 180 participants have already registered, seeking roles in telecom, manufacturing, sales, housekeeping, and back-office work . Employers are invited to tap into this diverse, skilled talent base and contribute to dismantling the pervasive stigma of mental illness in Indian workplaces .
Attendees will also benefit from free resume-building sessions, interview preparation, and post-placement support - emphasising long-term integration. SCARF's Chennai centre is on North Main Road, Anna Nagar West, serving as a hub for psychosocial rehabilitation and inclusive employment advocacy since 1984.
Through this fair, SCARF aims to redefine recovery as complete reintegration - not just clinical remission. This groundbreaking event could set an inspiring precedent for nationwide adoption of mental-health–inclusive hiring.
