Justice delivered? Supreme Court slams shut last hope for rapists of minor schoolgirl.

In a landmark decision, the Supreme Court of India dismissed the appeals of two convicts in the horrifying rape case of a minor schoolgirl, bringing a definitive end to their legal battle. The apex court upheld the life sentences previously awarded by the lower courts, stating that the evidence against the accused was "clear, consistent, and convincing."

The case involved the brutal assault of a young girl, an incident that had sparked widespread outrage and demands for swift justice. The convicts had approached the Supreme Court as a final resort, claiming gaps in the investigation and unfair trial proceedings. However, the bench found no merit in their pleas, reinforcing the judiciary’s firm stance on crimes against children.

Legal experts have hailed the verdict as a powerful message against sexual violence, especially involving minors. The court's refusal to entertain further appeals underscores a zero-tolerance policy and restores some faith in the justice system for survivors and their families.
