Tesla has launched its Mumbai showroom with Model Y non-refundable bookings starting at ₹22,000, priced from ₹59.89 lakh for the RWD variant and ₹67.89 lakh for the long-range version. Deliveries begin in Q3.
The Model Y faces stiff competition from significantly cheaper Indian alternatives. Mahindra's BE 6 starts at ₹18.90 lakh with 638km range, while XEV 9e begins at ₹21.90 lakh offering 659km range. Tata's Harrier.ev, priced from ₹21.49 lakh, provides 627km range with its 75kWh battery.
Despite Tesla's premium positioning and 622km range capability, domestic manufacturers offer compelling value propositions with advanced features like Level 2 ADAS, multiple driving modes, and fast charging capabilities at substantially lower prices.
