Mercedes-Benz India reported record first-quarter sales of 4,238 units, representing a 10% increase driven by strong demand for high-end models and electric vehicles. The German luxury carmaker benefited from India's growing appetite for luxury purchases among younger generations in the world's third-largest car market.

Top-end models including the S-Class and Mercedes-Maybach portfolio saw 20% growth, while EV sales more than doubled to comprise 8% of total sales. The core segment featuring C-Class, E-Class sedans, and GLC, GLE SUVs grew 10%, accounting for 60% of total sales.

"Our sharp focus on bolstering the top-end luxury segment has been highly successful," said CEO Santosh Iyer. Mercedes maintains its leadership position in India's luxury vehicle market, ahead of BMW and Jaguar Land Rover.
