In just five years since its launch in October 2020, the Mahindra Thar has achieved a remarkable milestone, crossing 3 lakh sales in India.

A significant driver of this success has been the Mahindra Thar Roxx, introduced in September 2024, which now accounts for 68% of Thar sales in the first five months of FY2026. The Roxx alone clocked 71,000 units in under a year, quickly becoming the volume booster for the iconic SUV.

Currently, Thar contributes 15% of Mahindra’s SUV volumes since 2020, highlighting its popularity. The brand has also made the Thar more accessible by slashing prices by up to Rs 1.35 lakh under the new GST structure, making it an attractive option for buyers.

The Thar lineup offers versatile engine options, including 1.5 L and 2.2 L mHawk turbo diesel engines, while the Roxx variant also provides a 2 L mStallion turbo petrol engine. Prices for the Thar start at Rs 10.32 lakh and go up to Rs 16.61 lakh, while the Thar Roxx starts from Rs 12.25 lakh (ex-showroom). With its powerful engines, stylish upgrades, and competitive pricing, the Thar continues to dominate the Indian SUV segment, appealing to both off-road enthusiasts and city drivers alike.
