Ayodhya’s much-anticipated Ram Janmabhoomi Temple is slated for its grand flag-hoisting ceremony on November 25, 2025, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event will symbolize the completion of the core construction phase, while ancillary work like the auditorium and boundary walls may continue into 2026.
A towering 21-foot saffron flag (some reports mention 22 feet) will be mounted atop the temple’s spire, bearing symbols such as the sun, “Om,” and the tree of Kovidar as described in the Valmiki Ramayana. Preparations include stress testing the flag’s materials to endure strong weather conditions and using a 360° rotating chamber at the flagpole to allow it to flutter freely without damage.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has extended the invitation to the Prime Minister, and Modi is said to have accepted. The ceremony will cap off a five-day sequence of religious rituals and mark a symbolic turn in Ayodhya’s spiritual and cultural journey.
While devotees will be allowed full access to the temple complex from that day, work on peripheral structures will still carry on. The inauguration is being positioned not just as a religious milestone but also a moment of national importance, drawing visitors and dignitaries from across India.
