Delhi is gearing up for a bold green makeover with its Electric Vehicle Policy 2.0, and the changes are anything but small. From banning petrol scooters to phasing out CNG autos, the capital is getting serious about clean air.
Starting August 15, 2024, no new CNG auto-rickshaws will be allowed. Old ones over 10 years? They'll need to go electric or get off the roads. And the biggest shocker?
All petrol, diesel, and CNG two-wheelers might be banned from 2026. Yes, that means your beloved scooty too!
Delivery guys and logistics fleets are also on the list only electric three-wheeler goods carriers will be allowed from next year. Garbage trucks? All-electric by 2027.
Even public transport is getting a makeover. Only e-buses will be added to DTC's fleet. And if you already own two cars, your next one has to be electric.
To back it all up, more charging stations are coming and subsidies, info, and support will be just a WhatsApp message away.
Big moves, big impact. Is Delhi ready to lead India's EV revolution?
