Perplexity rolls out AI Browser 'Comet' for pro users in India!

Perplexity has announced that its AI-powered browser Comet will be accessible to Pro subscribers in India starting September 22, 2025, expanding beyond its initial rollout in July. Comet aims to act as more than just a browsing tool: it doubles as a digital assistant that automates tasks ranging from booking meetings and sending emails to making online purchases, all while maintaining browsing context.

Built on Chromium, Comet integrates Perplexity’s search engine and AI assistant in a sidebar that helps with summarizing information, comparing products, managing schedules, and reducing the friction of switching between tabs and tools. Access to Comet in India will be limited to users with Pro or Max subscriptions and select invite-only users on a waitlist, with more invites being released weekly.

By offering Comet to its Indian Pro base, Perplexity is positioning itself as a serious competitor in the AI browser market - seeking to challenge established names like Chrome and Edge by delivering deeper automation, smarter search, and enhanced personal productivity.
