A key highlight was the virtual inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal (MICT) at Indira Dock. Built at a cost of ₹556 crore, the world-class terminal spans over 4,15,000 square feet, with 72 immigration counters, the capacity to handle one million passengers annually, and berthing for five cruise ships at once.
Other projects include a container terminal at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, new berths at Paradip Port, and coastal protection works in Tamil Nadu and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Gujarat will see significant investments in energy, industrial hubs, and healthcare, including the HPLNG regasification terminal and solar infrastructure.
PM Modi also reviewed progress of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal and development of the Dholera Special Investment Region, reinforcing India’s maritime vision.
