Mumbai Police have arrested a 40-year-old female school teacher from a private educational institution for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old male student. The alleged incidents began in December 2023, and according to the police, continued over a span of several months.

The teacher reportedly developed a close relationship with the student during extracurricular activities. Authorities allege that she would meet the student outside school premises and take him to various locations in the city. The investigation also revealed that the student may have been given medication without proper consent, contributing to his distress and anxiety.

The student’s family noticed behavioral changes and, after learning of the alleged abuse, filed a formal police complaint. The teacher has been booked under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and the Juvenile Justice Act. She has been suspended by the school pending investigation.
