The sacred Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand has been temporarily halted due to inclement weather, as announced by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Speaking from Haridwar on Thursday, he stated that the safety of pilgrims is the top priority and that the yatra will resume only when weather conditions improve.
District officials, disaster management teams, NDRF, and SDRF are already on alert, ensuring preparedness for any emergency along the routes to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri. With heavy rainfall and the risk of landslides, the suspension was a necessary step to avoid any untoward incidents.
CM Dhami reassured devotees that authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will reopen the yatra once conditions are deemed safe. He urged pilgrims to stay updated through official channels before planning their travel.
